1. Code of conduct – EJFC Parents

i.  Be a responsible role model.

ii.  Familiarise yourself with the Eltham Junior Football Club’s Purpose, Policies, Procedures and Codes of Conduct and abide by them.

iii.  Ensure your child arrive punctually for training and games.

iv.  Do not yell at, ridicule or scold players for making a mistake.

v.  Recognise and applaud good play from all players, not just our own.

vi.  Do not participate in any type of aggressive behaviour, both physical and verbal, to umpires, officials, players or any club members and opposition teams. In particular, any type of behaviour that demeans or offends another person on the basis of that person’s race, colour or religion will not be tolerated.

vii.  Encourage your children to play by the Laws of Australian Football and Northern Football Bylaws.

viii.  Condemn the use of violence in all forms. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from junior football.

ix. Encourage the principal that honest effort is just as important as winning.

x.  Do not encourage sledging. It will not be tolerated by Eltham Junior Football Club under any circumstances.

xi.  Do not undermine the efforts of Coaches or Officials or Representatives and recognise and acknowledge the value and contribution made by these volunteers.

xii.  If you disagree with an official, raise the issue through the appropriate channels rather than questioning the official’s judgement and honesty in public.

xiii.  Assist with match day and training tasks wherever possible.

xiv.  Encourage other persons to follow these principals.

xv.  By registering our children with the Eltham Junior Football Club we agree to abide by these principals.

xvi.  We support the Club in its undertakings and accept the Club will take any necessary disciplinary actions including the suspension of membership and voting rights where warranted of any parents/guardians for repeated or serious breaches of these Codes of Conduct.

xvii.  The Code of Conduct and any further amendments are valid while parents are supporting the Eltham Junior Football Club form U9’s through to Under 18’s.

xviii.  The Club encourages those players or their parents/guardians to approach the Team Manager in a respectful manner at an appropriate time if there are any issues on game day.

xix.  No player, parent, guardian or coach can raise a negative issue during or immediately after training or a game. EJFC recognises a “cooling off” period of 24 hours before addressing an incident, this enables all involved the opportunity to rethink and review the circumstances and details of the issue and reduces emotion. It is recommended that an arrangement be made for a mutually agreeable time to discuss the matter in a non-judgemental and respectful manner. Discussions will not be held in the presence of any of the children/players. If the issue cannot be resolved in this way it is recommended to get in touch with the Football Operations Manager or an Executive Committee Member.

xx.  Playing Jumpers – All playing jumpers are the property of EJFC, starting 2017 the club will not be collecting a jumper deposit as part of the fee’s so all jumpers have to be returned to Team Managers at the end of the season. If you wish to keep the jumper at the end of the season or do not return, you will be charged a fee of $60.00 for Std Jumpers or $80 for Reversible Jumpers.
