Code of conduct – EJFC Player

Be early for training and games. If you cannot train or play advise your Coach and / or your Team Manager as soon as you are aware you cannot attend.

i.  Show respect to your teammates, coaches, officials and opposition. Treat your teammates, as you would like to be treated yourself.

ii.  Do not participate in any type of aggressive behaviour (both physical and verbal) that is outside the laws of Australian Rules Football. Control your temper and do not use bad language. In particular, any type of behaviour that demeans or offends another person on the basis of that person’s race, colour or religion will not be tolerated.

iii.  Become aware of and play by the Laws of Australian Rules Football.

iv.  Read and understand the Eltham Junior Football Club’s policies and become aware of the Northern Football League’s Rules and By-Laws and abide by them.

v.  Never argue with an umpires decision.

vi.  Let your team’s Captain ask any necessary questions.

vii.  Always attempt to follow your Coach’s instructions at games or training, and try your hardest.

viii.  Be a good sport. Make every effort to shake your opponents hand before and after every match. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

ix.  I support the Club in its undertakings and accept the Club will take any necessary disciplinary actions, including the suspension of membership and banning where warranted of any players for repeated or serious breaches of these Codes of Conduct.

x.  The Club encourages that players or their parents/guardians to approach the Team Manager in a respectful manner at an appropriate time if there are any issues on game day.

xi.  No player, parent, guardian or coach can raise a negative issue during or immediately after training or a game. EJFC recognises a “cooling off” period of 24 hours before addressing an incident, this enables all involved the opportunity to rethink and review the circumstances and details of the issue and reduces emotion. It is recommended that an arrangement be made for a mutually agreeable time to discuss the matter in a non-judgemental and respectful manner. Discussions will not be held in the presence of any of the children/players. If the issue cannot be resolved in this way it is recommended to get in touch with the Football Operations Manager or an Executive Committee Member.

xii.  Playing Jumpers – All playing jumpers are the property of EJFC, starting 2017 the club will not be collecting a jumper deposit as part of the fee’s so all jumpers have to be returned to Team Managers at the end of the season. If you wish to keep the jumper at the end of the season or do not return, you will be charged a fee of $60.00 for Std Jumpers or $80 for Reversible Jumpers.

The Code of Conduct and any further amendments will be valid while players are registered to play for Eltham Junior Football Club from U9’s through to U18’s.
