- Code of conduct – EJFC Committee Member
By taking on a role at committee level each person must accept all responsibilities that their role entails.
i. Each committee member must ensure their behavior and demeanour sets an example for others to follow.
ii. Familiarise yourself with the Eltham Junior Football Club’s Purpose, Policies, Procedures and Codes of Conduct and abide by them. Actively encourage other persons to follow these principles.
iii. Do not participate in any type of aggressive behaviour, both physical and verbal, to umpires, officials, players or any other club members and opposition teams. In particular, any type of behaviour that demeans or offends another person on the basis of that person’s race, colour or religion will not be tolerated.
iv. If you disagree with an official, raise the issue through the appropriate channels rather than questioning the official’s judgement and honesty in public.
v. Do not undermine the efforts of our Coaches or Officials or Representatives and recognise and acknowledge the value and contribution made by these volunteers.
vi. Encourage all children to play by the Laws of Australian Football and Northern Football Bylaws.• Condemn the use of violence in all forms. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from junior football.
vii. Committee members will support the whole Club in it’s undertakings and accept the Executive Committee of the Eltham Junior Football Club will take any necessary disciplinary actions required, including being stood down from the committee until all issues are rectified. Suspension of membership and voting rights where warranted any for repeated or serious breaches of these Codes of Conduct.
